Your Ideal Pokémon Legends: Z-A Mega Evolution According to the Zodiac Sign

The return of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked immense excitement across the fandom. From the gradual unveiling of newcomers before the game's launch, to players forming firm opinions on the full roster of Mega Evolutions, there's plenty for enthusiasts to look forward to.

With numerous of the Super Forms showcasing unique designs that emphasize their personalities, one idea came to mind: What's the best way to connect this with astrology? This list is based on a mix of intuition, sign stereotypes, and personal experience.

The Ram – Mega Camerupt

To be truthful, Houndour's evolution was nearly selected for Aries, as they are the Super Form and zodiac symbol that evoke the greatest apprehension. But, a Mega Houndoom comes across as constantly angry, which isn't typical of the Aries vibe, renowned for being fun, light-hearted, and spontaneous. That's why Aries much more similar to Super Camerupt, which solely spews lava when provoked. Remain on the friendly side of both and enjoy a powerful ally; should you offend them, prepare to get burned.

The Bull – Mega Heracross

Much like a devoted Taurus, the reliable Heracross species, both in its standard and Super Form, has assisted many players in Legends: Z-A. While dependable, each the creature and a Bull are also Fighting types, and – whether it's their companion or a strong opinion – will defend their side to the end. The thing about Super Heracross that reminds me most of my Taurus friends, though, is its unashamed passion for snacks. Many previous Pokédex entries note their craving for tasty sap and how it uses its horn to hoard it all, which is pure Taurus energy.

The Twins – Mega Medicham

Look at this absolute queen. You cannot convince me this creature is not the soul of any gathering, providing an constant stream of gossip to those who wants to hear. Just like an captivating, gregarious Gemini, it's very easy to envision Super Medicham captivating an entire open area with their stories. This Pokémon's Pokédex entry also mentions its capacity to predict an enemy’s next moves, which seems quite like a socially-savvy Gemini.

The Crab – Super Manectric

The Crab is commonly regarded as the most emotional member of the zodiac, a passionate symbol known for often becoming absorbed in their emotions. Per the Pokédex, Mega Evolution fills the creature with a “tremendous quantity of electricity, but it's too much for this Pokémon to completely manage,” which seems a lot like a typical Cancer emotional outburst. It is also recognized for its ability to make a storm cloud over its very head – and if there’s a single trait a Crab is likely to do, it’s spoil their good time.

The Lion – Mega Starmie

Oh, did you think I was planning to select the lion Pokémon for the lion of the zodiac? Besides the reality that it would be far too on the nose, Leo is obviously Mega Starmie, the star whose legs just went viral for being extremely glamorous (or horrifying, depending on your preference). Fans couldn’t look away from the violet sea star, and that’s precisely the same vibe a Lion brings to the scene. Starmie is also said to be broadcasting signals from its center out into space, and it’s just like a Lion to be staging a performance, albeit for aliens.

Virgo – Super Victreebel

The always-ready and perpetually-anxious Maiden is perfectly represented in Mega Victreebel, the Super Form with perpetual digestive issues. The zodiac symbol known for being charmingly critical is strongly mirrored throughout this creature's entire evolutionary chain, from a always shocked face like a Virgo when you tell them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its upside-down face that’s just like the symbol a Maiden posts to the group chat when all says they want to “be spontaneous” rather than creating a strategy.

The Scales – Mega Audino

Observe this gentle, sensitive creature, who employs the feelers on its ears to tell how others are feeling by their heartbeat. Always compassionate – sometimes to a detriment – and trying to maintain the harmony, there are numerous Libras who would likely appreciate Super Audino's abilities. Though, to be frank, it would likely just cause them to worry even more about others.

The Scorpion – Mega Banette

Banette is a Pokémon with a unexpectedly sad origin: Abandoned as a toy, it gained sentient through sheer resentment and vowed revenge on its former owner. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “increases its spitefulness.” That sounds exactly like many conversations I’ve had with my scary Scorpio friends. A Scorpio adores karma and comeuppance, making them the ideal match with Super Banette.

The Archer – Super Hawlucha

Both Super Hawlucha and Archers are always staging a show. Being a Sagittarius myself, the amount of times I’ve referred to myself some variation of a “silly small jester” is countless. The showiest and most attention-seeking Super Form, its description even notes how it “flexes to show off its power.” I would do the exact same thing if I had some kind of Mega evolved form, making Mega Hawlucha the most apt Archer counterpart I can imagine.

The Goat – Super Absol

Did you know that a Super Absol has the power to foresee disasters in advance? That exudes the identical energy as a Goat, who often consistently think they’re right. Interestingly, much like a visionary Mega Absol, they often are. It’s also the very initial Super Form that players encounter in Legends: Z-A – typical of a Goat to get in on the ground floor of the Super Form craze.

Aquarius – Mega Chandelure

Detached air sign Water Bearer is arguably the non-fire sign that is most like a fire sign – its sister sign is the Lion, and there are countless jokes about Sagittarius and Aquarius being chaotic accomplices. Mega Chandelure’s double Spirit/Flame category fits seamlessly with this, and the Mega’s overall daunting presence is also extremely Aquarius. If you weren’t already persuaded, the Mega’s Pokédex entry says it “draws in negative energy and converts it into power.” If that doesn’t exactly {encaps
