The thrilling extra-inning contest that saw the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Blue Jays 5-4 averaged a total 51M spectators across the United States, Canadian, and Japan markets. In the Canadian market, the game drew 11.6M watchers on the Sportsnet network and the French-language TVA Sports. This made it the most-watched English broadcast in Canada since the 2010 Winter Olympics.
In the Japanese market, where the final game started at 9 p.m. in the local time zone, it drew 12M. This followed last Friday’s sixth game – in which World Series MVP Yamamoto allowed a single run in six innings – averaged 13.1M spectators, making it the most-watched Fall Classic game on a sole broadcaster in Japan.
