The Renowned Musician Encourages Backing to Get Palestinian Solidarity Lullaby to UK Holiday Chart Peak.
A charity drive is aiming to launch a cultural melody to the top of the UK charts. The campaign hopes to deliver assistance to people in Gaza while also showcasing Palestinian cultural expression.
A Chance for Unity and an "Unlikely Coup"
Composer and producer Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a chance to support Palestinians over the Christmas period. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.
“That would be amazing if that occurred, yes,” he said. “I wouldn't be completely disheartened if it fails to, festive releases are a category of their own.”
Defiant Message of Dignity and Freedom
Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who sings on the adaptation of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the track's resilient spirit.
“The song holds a deeply meaningful spot for many individuals,” Barghouti shared. “It’s basically saying that I would choose to perish with honor than live a life without freedom. This is the primary message of the song; we want to live a life of dignity that we merit as a people.”
Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup
The song was recorded after a large-scale benefit event held in late summer. Originally intended to be done as a live recording, the performance was omitted from the lengthy event due to time constraints.
The impressive roster of artists appearing on Lullaby includes a selection of acclaimed names from the scene. All participated in the earlier concert, which reportedly raised a considerable total for charitable causes.
Production and Release
Lullaby was produced by a trio of music creators. The track blends a combination of the heritage language with new English lyrics.
The group managing the campaign have emphasized that their goal is to collect the highest amount for a specific fund. These resources will be channeled to Palestinian causes through an established charity.
“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a spokesperson said. “We aim for the maximum achievable. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. All proceeds are directed out to those in need in Gaza.”
The context in the area was described as its widespread damage, with a vast majority of buildings said to be levelled or seriously harmed.
“Against that backdrop, a handful of millions is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think the significant factor is above all making this cause better known and demonstrating there’s another side to the story.”
The song is scheduled for release this Friday. Additionally, a video of the solidarity show will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from the 19th of December.
